ERA Trading was founded June 21, 1996 by Egon and Ruth Alding. With more than 40 years of experience within the European steel manufacturing industry, the company was founded with the purpose of optimizing environmental recycling within our areas of expertise.
Our core values has only gotten stronger over the years, and to emphasize this we have taken a new name. A natural development, and a more than meaningful change – welcome to ERA RECYCLING #thegreenERA.

Not only have we changed our name, but also made an even bigger commitment for making an impact.
Needless to say that recycling is crucial in the road towards a low carbon society; but is it enough? Not really. #onetononetree is not just a CSR project, but an initiative which will actually make an impact. ERA have joined forces with the non-profit organization ONETREEPLANTED, planting a tree for every ton scrap recycled. This enables ERA and its business partners to create an even greater environmental impact.
Why trees? A few facts!
Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity. They also provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines. Ever taken an Aspirin? It comes from the bark of a tree!
46-58 THOUSAND square miles of forest are lost every year. That’s equivalent to 36 football fields every minute.
Trees help cool the planet by sucking in and storing harmful greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide, into their trunks, branches, and leaves, and releasing oxygen back into the atmosphere.
